Time Saver Cheese and Ham Puff
Ingredients
16 slices of white bread (400 grams)
3 teaspoons unsaturated margarine (15 grams)
8 slices sliced tasty cheese (250 grams)
8 slices low fat shaved ham (250 grams)
16 pieces semi sun-dried tomatoes (100 grams)
1/4 cup chopped spring onion (25 grams)
6 eggs
3 cups non-fat milk (750 ml)
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1- 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon chilli sauce eg Tabasco
1/4 cup coarsely chopped cornflakes (10 grams)
Method
Cut the crusts off bread.
Grease a large oblong dish (23 by 35cm)
Make sandwiches with a scrape of margarine, cheese and ham.
Cut each sandwich into triangles.
Arrange with points up in oblong dish.
Sprinkle with chopped sun dried tomatoes and chopped spring onion.
Beat together eggs, milk, mustard, Worcestershire sauce and chilli sauce.
Pour over sandwiches.
Sprinkle with cornflakes, if baking right away.
Bake in a 180°C for 1 hour or until puffy and a knife comes out clean.
Leave for 10 minutes to set before cutting.
You may cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
Then remove plastic wrap, sprinkle with cornflakes and bake when ready.

Note
