Mountain Bread
Mountain bread is a great substitute for bread, particularly if you are trying to watch your weight. It comes in a variety of flavours from wheat, rye, corn etc. one slice is equal to 1 slice of commercial bread but you can spread it with a filling, top with salad and roll it up. It can make a substantial and filling meal. There are 8 slices in a packet with each slice weighing 25 grams. Two can be used to give the equivalent of a sandwich. In this case people often place one on top of the other and then add spread and filling. This makes them equal to a Lavash Bread.
They can also be used instead of Pita bread, Tortillas or Roti. Roll them up with pieces of lamb or chicken and a yoghurt dressing to make Souvkaki. Add some salad to help increase your vegetable intake.We would highly recommend this product but at this stage, kilojoules are not given on the packet. With the new labelling laws, this should be corrected.
Serve = 1 bread weighing 25 grams
