Flora Pro-active Margarine
This margarine has been supplemented with plant sterols. One twenty gram serve per day has been clinically proven to reduce blood cholesterol by reducing cholesterol uptake or absorption.
For those who are overweight, weight reduction will reduce blood cholesterol, as well as a number of other cardiovascular risk factors such as hypertension. Twenty grams of margarine is too much added fat for most weight reduction eating plans.
This margarine is very expensive in comparison to other monounsaturated/polyunsaturated margarines, and may reduce the uptake of fat-soluble vitamins, such as beta-carotene. We would recommend this product for people with elevated cholesterol who are not overweight and can afford the additional expense.
Average serve size = 5g = 1 teaspoon
