Mince
Mince is one of the higher fat meat choices. Cutting the fat in mince starts in the supermarket. Choose mince that is 'low fat', 'heart smart' or 'five star'. These labels will indicate the mince is the lower fat choice. They may cost slightly more, but the price is worth it for your health.
When cooking mince, dont be tempted to use oil. Mince will have enough fat in it already. Use a non-stick pan and add some diced garlic cloves to enhance flavour. Cook on a lower temperature to start, unti the mince juices escape and help to prevent sticking at a higher heat.
