Strawberries
When purchasing strawberries, choose dark red firm looking berries and store in the refrigerator. It is best to just brush them with a cloth before eating or if there is concern for Listeria (effecting pregnant women) then they must be washed.
They can be flavoured with a little icing sugar or liqueur.
1 cup strawberries will give you 160 KJ (31.2 Calories), 4.4 grams of carbohydrate, 72.5 grams of Vitamin C and 22mg folate and they make a delicious and nutritious addition to any meal.
